Profile of Mr. James Avoka Asamani

Mr. James Avoka Asamani is a health economist and a health system expert of international repute with specialisation in decision analytic modelling, health systems planning, Health Labour Market Analysis and Human Resources for Health. He has supported several countries and reputable institutions in developing health policies and plans, workload analysis, staffing norms/standards, health investment cases and health labour market analysis. Cumulatively, he has more than a decade of health sector experiences spanning from micro-level hospital-based health management through national and cross-country health systems analysis and management.
Mr. Asamani also held the position of Adjunct Lecturer at the Central University and Valley View University in Ghana where he taught Management of Healthcare Institutions and Research Methods. He has published widely in peer-reviewed scientific journals and presented in international conferences in the areas of his expertise; and has peer-reviewed for several scientific journals of intentional repute. He is also a member of the International Health Economics Association (iHEA).
The Commonwealth Scholar holds postgraduate degrees in Health Economics and Health Policy cum laude from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom as well as Nursing (Health management and Human Resources for Health) from the University of Ghana.
